Ave-et-Auffe

Originally, these were two distinct hamlets that were united in 1826.
Ave was originally a direct domain of the Prince-Bishop of Liège, which was ceded in 1478 to the Lord of Lavaux-sainte-Anne, while Auffe was a possession of the Abbey of Stavelot, incorporated into the Lordship of Han. They were united in 1826, but their origins date back to the Merovingian era. These two hamlets are home to magnificent works of art. Furthermore, the Saint-Lambert chapel boasts remarkable polychrome statues. The building dates back to the 18th century. Saint Helena was invoked there against fever, and Saint Raymond for the protection of livestock.
