Malagne - Archéorparc de Rochefort
.avif)
A classified site and monument, the Archeopark recreates the environment and life of one of the largest Roman villas in northern Gaul from the 1st century BC. Two excavation campaigns in 1891 and 1991 uncovered a main building (104 m long by 30 m wide) and ancillary structures.
The rich soil and strategic location of the area undoubtedly attracted the Gauls to Malagne, followed by the Romans. With ancient breed farming, a vegetable garden, cereal crops, an orchard, a beehive, and aromatic and medicinal plants, Malagne is sure to entertain you! Through workshops, this site experiments with ancient techniques related to working with earth and fire. Archaeological exhibitions, audiovisual presentations, and a multimedia program are available for you.
