Malagne celebrates its 30th anniversary: heading for the Archeopark

Since 1996, Malagne has undergone significant changes. To celebrate this thirtieth anniversary, the site is asserting its unique identity more than ever through its concept: the Archaeopark.
Far from static traditional museums, Malagne merges ancient know-how with nature preservation. It's a true historical and cultural green lung, waiting to be rediscovered.
Several hectares of living history and biodiversity
The Malagne estate spans several protected hectares. The secret to its longevity? Bringing history to life daily through tangible practices: the active Gallo-Roman forge, traditional bread baking, and the cultivation of forgotten plants in ancient gardens and vegetable patches.
It's an open-air conservatory where historical heritage coexists with preserved nature.
Animals at the heart of the project: animal traction
One of Malagne's great strengths for three decades has been the reintroduction of ancient breeds and the development of animal traction.
The site uses draft horses and Soay sheep not only for the maintenance of the estate but also to faithfully recreate Roman agricultural techniques (such as demonstrations of the famous ancient harvester, the Vallus). The animal is therefore not
a mere attraction; it is a full-fledged farm worker.
A forward-looking anniversary
Turning 30 also means looking ahead. Malagne is taking advantage of this anniversary to launch significant future projects, including the modernization of its reception facilities and exhibition spaces to offer an even more immersive experience to its 16,000 annual visitors, families, and numerous school groups.
